LORI HERBST, BOARD OF DIRECTORS

California based textile artist, Lori Herbst has been a consistently contributing or featured artist at top galleries in both Southern and Northern California and has art around the globe.

Lori began her sewing career as a stage costumer and built those skills, with her first show in 2014, into a full time art career. She uses painstaking research and fabric construction to create photo realistic and portrait pieces that have a classical art feel. The use of modern fabrics, and the techniques that she invented, give a new, revolutionary direction to her pieces that is visual, tactile and durable.

Lori creates images inspired by popular culture with a specific interest in film, music and mid-century sensibilities.

Lori enjoys giving back to her community through her artwork and has given dozens of portraits to different charities to auction for fundraisers. Lori believes if we all use our abilities to help one another, we can solve many of the problems that have divided us.

She lives in Stockton, California with her husband, her son, their two dogs and a completely indifferent cat.
